Have I told you one of my other addictions? Make-up and skincare! You already know that I am a member of Birchbox and Beauty Army. I am always in search of that miracle product that is going to TRANSFORM my skin. It has not happened yet, but I still have high hopes. But until I do, I will be in search of the skin care product that is going to help me fight off the wrinkles, remove the pregnancy melasma, clear up my skin and basically make me look 15 years younger (that’s realistic, right?).
I went to Sephora a couple of weeks ago and was lucky enough to have a really nice beauty associate help me find some new skincare products that would work with my skin. What I love about Sephora is their amazing customer service and that they will give a sample of most of their products, which allows you to try out the product for a couple of days before making a large purchase that might not work out for your skin in the end. She introduced me to Ole Henriksen’s line of products. I have been using Proactiv for years (but realized that I needed something that would focus more on my AGING skin and not just keeping my skin clear). I tried it for three days and I was liking the results, so I went back and bought their Seven Skincare Sensations Kit (before committing to the full size bottles). So far, so good. I am really liking how it is making my skin feel (especially the Truth Serum Collagen Booster) and I haven’t had any breakouts from it so far. I will keep you updated if I suddenly look 10 years younger in a couple of weeks! I also bought their Protect the Truth sunscreen (really like the name). What I love about it is that it is SPF 50 and it also helps boost your skin to repair prior damage (see above). It is oil free, doesn’t feel greasy or sticky and it smells good too!
Another couple of products I decided to try were from Erin’s recommendations from the blog Dudley. Erin is an amazing makeup artist and hairstylist and I loved reading her insight on some of her favorite products! She recommended Make Up For Ever HD Primer and NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. I am loving both of the products so far. I bought the Primer in the pink color to help brighten up my skin. I was using Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer before but I like that the NARS is doing other things (brightening, reducing dark spots, etc) while it is moisturizing, protecting and covering you skin. The NARS product feels a lot more moisturizing to me than the Laura Mercier product.
What are some of your favorite skin products? Anything that I just HAVE TO try?
Melissa
