Landon started his first day of kindergarten this morning! When I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, he told me, “a volcano studier”. Carlos told him that was a geologist, but I wanted to make sure I wrote exactly what he said on the chalkboard. It captures the sweetness of being young and the possibility that they can be anything they want.
Do you remember what you wanted to be when you were young? I wanted to be a marine biologist so I could work with dolphins and seals!

So cute! Kindergarten was a hard day for me with my Oldest. Sadly we have moved on and I cannot believe he is already in second grade. Love that you captured this on film. It is going to be great to look back at!

My son just started kindergarten too and your photos brought tears to my eyes! What a WONDERFUL idea to capture images of his aspirations. My son wants to be “an animal rescuer” a la Wild Kratts (the PBS show). I hope they hold onto this certainty that they can in fact be anything! Found you via Daily Buzz Moms, btw – I’m a fellow 9’er today. 🙂

I love this idea of connecting with their dreams and imagination. I too have a little girl who started kindergarten this week. I’ll ask her after school today what she wants to be!
