Tasty Treats – Kid-Friendly Juicing Recipes

image via
Sometimes it can be hard to get all of those vegetables and fruits into your little ones!  But juicing makes it very easy for them to get good doses of vegetables and fruits in their morning glass of juice or as an afternoon snack.  What is great about some of these vegetables especially kale, cucumber and celery is that they can be masked by the tasty berries, apples or pears and the kids won’t be any the wiser!  Spud not only can deliver a Organic Juicing Box for Kids but has a long list of kid-friendly recipes that they will be sure to enjoy! Here are three of my kids’ favorite juices:

Berry Refreshing
– 1/4 cucumber
– 1/2 apple
– 1 handful strawberries
– 1 handful spinach
– 1/2 lemon
– 2 sprigs mint

Kick-start your system with this tasty blend. Cucumber hydrates and cleanses while lemon packs in loads of electrolytes. Spinach provides magnesium and mint soothes the digestive system. Apple reduces inflammation and strawberries are bursting with antioxidants.

Blue Moon
– 3 cups Spinach
– 1 cup Kale
– 1 1/2 cups Blackberries
– 1 cup Blueberries
– 3 Carrots
– 1 Apple
– 1 Pear

The combination of berries in this juice blend not only taste great, they are bursting with antioxidants which fight against free radical damage. Spinach and kale contain chlorophyll which helps oxygenate the blood, leading to increased brain function and energy. Pear helps the body flush out toxins and apple gives the immune system a boost.

Autumn Sunrise
– 1 apple
– 1 orange
– 2 carrots
– 2 stalks celery
– 1/2 lemon

Start your day on a healthy note with a glass of this fresh fruit and vegetable juice. Carrots are a goldmine of nutrients and antioxidants including beta-carotene and vitamin C. Orange and lemon contain beneficial phytochemicals and celery and apple provide hydration and a natural immune boost.
